MEET OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Seaside School Consortium Governing Board is comprised of community supporters, educators, and parents committed to bringing the first tuition-free public charter schools inspired by Waldorf methods to Duval County and the State of Florida. The Board is responsible for legal and financial obligations, establishing policy consistent with the Schools' mission, and ensuring that the programs and operations of the School are faithful to the terms of the charter.

BOARD MEETINGS
Seaside School Consortium, Inc., a non-profit organization complies with chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes, relating to public records, and s. 286.011, relating to public meetings and records, public inspection, and penalties as detailed in the Florida Statutes relating to public records and public meetings.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DATES ARE ONLY PROPOSED MEETING DATES AND TIMES. IN THE EVENT THAT THE DATE MUST BE CHANGED, A NOTICE WILL BE POSTED NO LATER THAN 2 DAYS PRIOR TO THE MEETING.
Method for the Public to make Comments at a Seaside Board Meeting
- Public comment is only permitted at Board meetings. Public comment is not permitted at Board workshops.
- Any person may sign up for public comment or submit written public comments by emailing [email protected] at least thirty (30) minutes prior to any Seaside Board meeting. Be advised that this email address will be used only for obtaining public comments for Seaside Board Meetings and should not be used for any other purpose or question. All emails received will be retained as public records pursuant to chapter 119, F.S.
- Each individual must include his/her name, address, and what organization, if any, s/he represents in the email. Anonymous comments will not be accepted.
- Written public comments will be included as part of the meeting record but will not be read out loud.
- Public comments must be limited to 3 minutes (approximately 400 words).
- Individuals giving public comment must refrain from direct questions to Board members, the Superintendent, school staff, or members of the audience.
- Public comments that include profane or vulgar language or personal attacks are prohibited.
- Public comments that are not timely or that do not comply with these requirements will not be included as part of the meeting record.
- The Board President reserves the right to maintain decorum at any meeting and to end any individual’s presentation of public comment that does not comply with these requirements.

BOARD COMMITTEES
Not enough time to commit to a Board position but want to help? Volunteer to be a part of our Board committees.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee will carry the Budget Process for the consortium and all (3) school campuses, along with other finance duties. Chosen members of this group will bring strong knowledge of finance, accounting, taxes, analytics, planning, and or strategy. Fundraising Committee The Fundraising Committee will support the mission and vision of our school and the many additional expenses that occur from being a Waldorf-inspired charter school. Chosen members of this group will bring strong knowledge of marketing, fundraising, communication, networking, sales, planning, and or strategy. Security & Facilities Facilities & Security Committee will support the work of the 3 campuses and chosen members will bring strong knowledge of facilities, green space, construction, safety, and/or security. |
Education Committee
The Education Committee will support the school’s Waldorf-inspired mission and vision. It will ensure that all (3) schools are providing a consistent and quality Waldorf-inspired experience for every student. Chosen members of this group will bring strong knowledge of higher education, Public Waldorf education, Florida State Standards education, administrative duties, Waldorf hand-working/arts, planning, and or strategy. Community Engagement ** The Community Life & Engagement Committee will support the building of community across all (3) Seaside campuses and the wider Jacksonville community. Chosen members of this group will bring strong knowledge of marketing, Waldorf, communication, networking, non-for-profits, diversity inclusion, and or community building. **Committee on hold until we have Board member to co-chair. We are currently making a list of any interested parties and will reach out to those interested once we have enough support to launch. |
