WHAT OUR EMPLOYEES ARE SAYING....
"Seaside is a warm, supportive, and caring school. Everyone, from the administrators, teachers, support staff, and families, are all there to help out wherever and whenever needed. It truly is the proverbial village, holistically educating and caring for the students while supporting one another in doing so. I feel very lucky to be a part of the Seaside community."
- Ms.Bonnie, Kindergarten Teacher
"I think what makes Seaside stand out is that our students LOVE coming to school, and therefore, LOVE learning. This lifelong love of learning is a gift that our students will always carry with them. Because our curriculum is both rigorous and developmentally appropriate, students learn content that nurtures their interests and supports their struggles, both socially and academically. I love being part of a teaching community that creates a student-centered learning environment, where we meet our students (head, heart, hands) exactly where they are ♥️"
- Ms.Bartholomew, 3rd Grade Teacher
"After leaving my previous field I was not sure where to go next. I couldn't imagine starting my teaching career anywhere besides Seaside. I was in search of a role where I could see growth and impact. I confidently can say in my teaching role, I am impacting lives for the better."
-Ms.Bullard, MS Math Teacher
"I could not be more blessed to work with a school family that supports the development of the whole child. I feel appreciated and supported on a regular basis and would never choose to work anywhere else."
- Mrs.Goldberg, 1st Grade Teacher
"I started as a parent at Seaside, choosing it for its Waldorf philosophy, conscious discipline and “whole brain child” way of teaching and now I am a teacher at Seaside! I love the inclusive culture here where “everyone belongs”! And that extends to the teachers and staff who have been so welcoming and helpful. It truly feels like a family here. I am so grateful to spend my days with such amazing children and coworkers."
- Ms.Schmidt, Specials Teacher
"I wanted to find a place where teaching the whole child was most important. A place in which the social emotional development as well as cognitive skills are equally important. A place that respects development and that preserves the magic of childhood and that's what I have found here. I love coming to work every day knowing that Im making a true difference and that they are learning more than reading and math. I love that the curriculum is so culturally diverse and encourages collaboration. I love that working here feels like an extension of a family. This is the first school that I work at in which I feel that everyone is truly here for the children and because they love teaching. I love how many opportunities for professional development there are and how supportive admin is no matter what the need is. I feel lucky that I get to spend my working hours in a place filled with so much positivity, learning, and magic. "
- Mrs.Cordova, 2nd Grade Teacher
"I love working at Seaside because we are allowed and encouraged to meet students where they are. We are very focused on the whole child and teaching in a wide variety of ways so that there is something for everyone. The administration is very understanding that teachers are only human, and things come up. The school is a giant family. "
- Ms.West, Teacher
"My Seaside family are the best colleagues I could have asked for. As a first-year teacher, I have felt fully capable in my position because of the support I’ve received from everyone. Through the highs and lows, we always feel celebrated and encouraged. I enjoy each new day that I get to be here!"
-Ms. Gutcher, 5th Grade Teacher
"When I received the news that I would be moving 1,300 miles away to a town I had never been to, I began researching schools anxiously hoping to find the right fit. When I came across Seaside, I knew their values of Waldorf education directly aligned with my own. Waldorf practices see each child as an individual and allow them the space and opportunities to become their genuine, best self. I think that’s the most special aspect of Waldorf education: it values students for who they are as people by truly looking at the child before you. I believe that’s how you can best love kids."
-Mrs.Wilmot, 4th Grade Teacher
"I chose to work at Seaside because I believe in the Waldorf way of learning, it is the best of both required public school standards and real-life skills.I love feeling like my time spent with little minds and hearts will grow them into genuine and good people."
-Ms.Patow, VPK Teacher
“It might sound cliche, but the second I walked in I just knew it was a special place. There was a sense of community that not every school has. Seaside gives us as teachers the flexibility to give our students what they need to be happy and successful. Being able to that, gives me a feeling of purpose because I know that I am able to make a difference!”
- Loreal David, Art Teacher
“After working in the early childhood education field for 24 years and now being back in the classroom as a first grade teacher has been a very rewarding. Working with children and their families is what I love most. Learning about Waldorf and being certified in it soon makes me feel very accomplished. It's been a reminder that what I went to school for and what I always wanted to do is still a passion of mine today.”
-Ms. De La Rosa, Teacher
“I love how much Seaside values the WHOLE child. I appreciate how the school gives us space to connect with each student & check in on their well-being. You can see the joy in the students!”
- Ms.Craig, Art Teacher
“I enjoy morning circle the best. I love the freshness of the morning when we are checking in with one another. I’m not used to having so much support and encouragement. I love it. I feel like I hit the jackpot, getting this amazing job. I am proud to be a part of an out-of-the box way to educate children! I love the honesty and the enthusiasm my second graders have. They are all so special and I love knowing that they have great potential to make the world a better place. I love teaching social studies and how to be a good citizen and friend.”
- Ms.Giuffre, Teacher
“I enjoy the relationships I can build with the students. The staff is my second family. I'm no longer a zombie! I got my joy back.”
-Mrs.Fekete, Teacher
"Who you work with and FOR really matters. ELC is supportive from the top (management) to the bottom (peers and even kids!).I feel fulfilled by getting to finally experience the labor of love that is educating children."
-Ms.Kat Jordan, ELC Teacher
“I love that Seaside values the WHOLE child and I strongly believe in the hands, hearts, and heads philosophy that Seaside uses to educate the students. I enjoy that I get to work with all the students and help them see how the golden rule help them in their everyday life. We are a school family here and we work together. For me it does not matter which campus I am on Seaside is like an extension of my family. Across campus we do life together. I love the teachers, staff, and students and am glad that Seaside is a part of my life.”
