Parent Communication at SCCS
Tuesday Folders: Each week on Tuesday, your child will bring home a folder with permission slips, events, messages from your teachers and other important announcements. If you do not receive a folder or if you are a family who lives in separate homes/divorsed, please email the office at email@example.com. We will make arrangements for you to receive all the information in an email.
School Emails: Each week on Saturday or Sunday, you will receive an email from the school summarizing the upcoming events. The school may send email announcements at other times as well. Please add Seaside_Community_Charter_School@mail.vresp.com to your safe list. If you are not getting regular emails from this distribution list, check your junk, spam, and promotional folders first, then contact firstname.lastname@example.org so we can investigate. You may also receive emails from your teacher or room parent as the year goes on.
Seaside Charter Smart Phone App: Please search for Seaside Charter in the Google Play store or in I-tunes. The school will provide reminders and short messages via push notices in this app. You can also access the school calendar and other features. This is an easy way to make payments for field trips, year book, supplies, and other purchases during the year. If you choose not to use this application, please contact email@example.com.
Emergency Communications: In the event of a school lockdown, emergency event or emergency involving your child, you may be emailed, texted or called directly by your child's teacher or another member of the school staff. Mass communication tools like the Seaside App or Vertical Response emails may or may not be appropriate in a given emergency situation. Please keep the school office informed of any changes in your emergency contact information. firstname.lastname@example.org
School Web site: www.seasidecharter.org. The parent section contains the parent handbook, school calendar and more. You must attend a school orientation and sign and return that you've read the parent handbook.
Teacher Web sites: All of our teachers maintain a website and blog, found at www.seasidecharter.org/staff. They would love your help with keeping the sites updated. You can find your teacher’s email address there. Teachers do not check their email during class nor do they make or take phone calls during class time. If you have an urgent concern, you should send a note with your child or call the school office. Teachers usually respond to emails in 24 – 48 hours. If you do not hear from your teacher, please email the office at email@example.com
Facebook: The school’s Facebook page is used mostly for items of general interest. Though some events are mentioned here, most announcements will be communicated through other means. There are no private parent Facebook groups authorized, sponsored or monitored by the school or any organizations affiliated with the school. There is a parent Facebook page, but our teachers, principal, and bulk of the staff are not on the page. If you have questions or concerns, please email the school directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Want to announce or schedule a school wide event? Email email@example.com on or before Wednesday and once approved it will be added to the school calendar and emailed to the all parents in the weekly update email. If there is any conflict with other school events, we will let you know.
Questions: Call or email the school. Our staff will respond as quickly as possible. Though response times are normally very fast, if you do not get a response in 48 hours, please contact us again.
